A city closer to nature
“Hajnówka for the Climate” and “Green Hajnówka” are measures whose goals are:
- reducing energy consumption,
- building ecological awareness from the earliest years,
- creating a city better prepared for the challenges related to climate change,
- developing the city’s green spaces,
- closer contact between residents and nature.
Conscious residents – cleaner air
Residents will be able to take part in ecological workshops and picnics dedicated, among other things, to energy efficiency, energy saving and climate protection. At the same time, the city will prepare important strategic documents, including the Hajnówka City Development Strategy and guidelines on applying the DNSH principle (“Do No Significant Harm”) when implementing investments.

“Green Hajnówka” is an investment in space, nature and the quality of life of residents. We want greenery to be not only a decoration of the city, but an important part of it – a place for rest, activity, education and meetings.
Hajnówka for the Climate

Hajnówka for the Climate is a combination of knowledge, responsibility and concrete investments – for a cleaner, more energy-efficient and climate-resilient city.
City Park – a place to meet nature
One of the key elements of the action will be the comprehensive revitalisation of the City Park in Hajnówka. The park’s infrastructure will be renovated, and places for recreation, relaxation and active leisure will be created and modernised. The park is to become an even more attractive and friendly space for residents of all ages.
Small greenery – big change
Plans also include developing a concept for the development of pocket parks and other small green spaces in Hajnówka. These are small places that can significantly improve the quality of urban space – giving residents more shade, greenery, opportunities to rest and contact with nature.
Water Park – less energy, more efficiency
One of the most important elements of the action will be the comprehensive energy modernisation of the Water Park in Hajnówka. The following will be modernised, among others: the swimming pool water heating system, mechanical ventilation, the heat substation, the BMS building automation and management system, lighting and the building façade. The facility will also be equipped with a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of approximately 49 kW, using solar energy.
Nature Academy – learn, experience, understand
The Nature Academy – a centre for ecological education and experiencing nature – will be continued. The second stage will include construction and installation works as well as equipping the centre, which will be a place for gaining knowledge about nature through direct experience and active participation.
From preschooler to ecologist – ecological education starts with the youngest
Workshops and educational activities will be held in kindergartens and primary schools to help children and young people better understand nature, care for the environment and develop everyday pro-ecological habits.
