Contest “Getting to Know Our Surroundings on Two Wheels”
The City of Hajnówka has joined the 2026 edition of European Mobility Week – the largest European initiative promoting environmentally friendly means of transport, held from 16 to 22 September. This year’s guiding theme is “Mobility for Everyone – Mobility for All Generations”.
In connection with the above, the Hajnówka City Hall is organising a contest entitled “Getting to Know Our Surroundings on Two Wheels”, aimed at promoting cycling among all generations. The contest is addressed to children from kindergartens and primary schools in the city of Hajnówka (two age groups: pupils of grades I–III and pupils of grades IV–VIII).
The contest will consist of two stages:
- Stage I – planning and carrying out a joint family bicycle trip on any day between 16 and 22 September 2026, involving at least two generations.
- Stage II – creating a collage from the joint trip and delivering the works to the City Hall by 7 October 2026.
The contest collage may be made in any artistic form chosen by the participant.
Participants may prepare the collage, among other forms, as:
- a drawing or painting,
- a photographic work,
- a drawing-and-photographic combination,
- a cut-and-paste collage using selected materials,
- a combination of different techniques and materials.
The work may be enriched with the participant’s own short comments, slogans, captions or sentences referring to the theme of the trip, the cycling adventure, active leisure time or the advantages of cycling.
