SURVEY – regarding the selection of initiatives for the preparation of a funding application under the Polish-Swiss City Development Programme – until 17 November 2024

The City of Hajnówka plans to submit an application under the Polish-Swiss City Development Programme competition. The aim of the programme is to improve the quality of life of residents through the implementation of projects/actions planned in the application that will contribute to economic development, improvement of the quality of life and environmental protection.
If funding is obtained – for which 139 cities losing socio-economic functions may apply – the project will be implemented in the years 2026–2029.
The survey is intended to help the city authorities in selecting initiatives for the preparation of a funding application under the above-mentioned competition.
The projects will in most cases be co-financed from the Polish-Swiss City Development Programme up to 100% of their value. However, due to limited funds, not all projects will be included in the funding application, therefore we ask for careful assessments.
When assessing the projects, it should be remembered that we aim to implement projects that will be developmental for the city. Such projects generate maintenance costs, but also benefits, e.g. better cultural and recreational services, support for seniors, development of tourism, entrepreneurship, and others. We leave the assessment in this respect to you, hoping that in addition to taking into account your own needs and ambitions, you will also consider the aspects of the overall impact of the projects on the development of the city.
Among the important criteria for the evaluation of the submitted funding application are:
- the degree of preparation of investment projects for implementation (the highest scores will be given to applications with a large number of investments that have a building permit), therefore the investments listed below are largely ready for implementation; soft projects are not assessed in terms of readiness for implementation),
- compliance of the projects with the strategic development goals of the city, therefore the projects listed below concern nature protection, development of culture, education, integration, tourism, entrepreneurship and social support,
- social participation – residents’ consent to the implementation of the projects and the submission of the funding application (in which you are participating by filling in this survey).
The survey presents short descriptions of the projects that should be assessed on a scale from 1 to 7, where 1 means that the project is absolutely unnecessary, 7 means that it is absolutely necessary, and 4 is a neutral assessment (I don’t know, I have no opinion). Additionally, at the end of the survey there is an opportunity to propose your own project.
